We support the development of art and an appreciation of the arts generally among young people.  In the past we have supported promising local students in music and the arts with small grants to assist with travel costs, materials and incidental expenses.  More recently Honiton DFAS has been helping local schools and churches with arts projects.

The most recent project we have helped with is at Musbury Primary School to revamp the school Noticeboard, and it was unveiled at a Tea Party on 4th November, 2015 for parents and local people.  The children had previously spent a day at the new Woodland Trail on the Tracey Estate at Awliscombe where they gathered leaves and took bark rubbings to provide the inspiration for their art project. The noticeboard at the school entrance has been made from hand-painted tiles to show the School's new logo in the centre, surrounded by painted leaves and hand prints.

In June 2016 the Society invited Honiton Community College to nominate a student for a £100 bursary for the extension or continuation of his/her studies in an artistic field.  The bursary was awarded to Jamie Johnson, an A-level Photography student who hopes to pursue his studies of photography at Falmouth College of Arts, and was presented to Jamie at HCC's Celebration Assembly on 14 July.
